BELLINGHAM, Wash. - A 14-year-old boy died and five other teens were injured in a single car crash Monday night.

The crash happened just after 9:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of 30th Street in south Bellingham.

The boy who was killed was identified as George  S. Tsimouris. He is being remembered as a kind-hearted boy with a wonderful sense of humor.

"He was just very kind, loving and he had a big heart, he loved everyone, never hurt anybody," said his 18-year-old brother, Emmanuel.

George was sitting in a back seat. Investigators said they're not sure yet whether he was wearing a seat belt. They also said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

Fourteen-year-old George Tsimouris died in the crash.

"I'm amazed that there was just young person who was killed in it," said Craige Ambrose of the Bellingham Police Department.

Two teens are still hospitalized and two others have been released.

The driver of the car is a good student with no criminal history. Because of that the judge decided to release him to his parents while he awaits a trial.

The group, aged between 14 and 16, was headed down 30th Street at a high rate of speed when the Volkswagen Golf left the roadway, crashed through the bushes and ended up on its side.

The car was traveling at high speed on a dangerous stretch of road.

"The estimates are 60 miles per hour or higher and that is a 25-mile-an hour street," Ambrose said.

Police said that 30th Street has a history of drawing young people in their cars. Its hills and valleys mixed with speed have proven fatal before. People living near the accident site hope the city will take a hard look at installing speed bumps or some type of precaution for traffic.
