Snow on your car could get you a ticket

02:11 PM PST on Monday, January 5, 2009

SEATTLE – If you’re one of those people who slack off when it comes to cleaning that fresh snow off your car, you might want to think twice.

Bob Calkins, Community and Media Relations Officer for the Washington State Patrol, says failing to clean snow from your car – hood, roof, etc. – constitutes an unsecured load and you can be ticketed.

However, Calkins says it’s unlikely that a state trooper will pull you over solely for snow falling off your vehicle.
