Nursing homes sex offender list
The KING 5 Investigators compared two databases to find out how many sex offenders are registered at addresses that match the addresses of state-licensed long term care facilities.
The first database, from the Washington State Patrol, contained the names, addresses and dates of birth of all registered sex offenders in the State of Washington. The second database came from the Department of Social and Health Services and contained addresses and other information on all long-term care facilities (nursing homes, boarding homes and adult family homes) currently licensed as of July, 2006.
Over the last four months our staff called every facility whose address matched the address given for a sex offender to see if the offender in fact lived there. The results are in the far right column.
