Seller pulls out of deal after noticing mistake
11:00 PM PST on Tuesday, November 18, 2008
SEATTLE – Check any mother's Internet chat board and you'll find a whole community telling you where the deals are.
But if you look up a high-dollar car seat offer from Target, you'll see some angry posts.
Hannah Abbott has nothing bad to say about her Britax car seats. She has two for her two kids.
While online Sunday night, she found message boards saying there was a super deal at target.com. The price was apparently cut down from $280 to $43.
Hannah jumped on it and ordered three, knocking out Christmas shopping for relatives and getting one for her baby on the way.
"I couldn't pass up the deal," she said.

She noticed that she even saved on shipping. She even got her confirmation e-mailed to her.
But on Monday she found out that the order had been canceled by Target. No money was taken from her account and there was no explanation.
"They just kind of sent me on my way and said sorry," she said.
We asked Target what happened to Hannah's order because it seemed like a done deal.
But they only said their Web site had a pricing feed malfunction and as a result, everyone who ordered the Britax car seat for $43 had their order canceled. No exceptions.
That doesn't seem right to people like Hannah.
"I'm pretty frustrated. During the holiday season, when the economy is really low right now, people are looking for bargains and we just get shut down by Target," she said.
The Attorney General's Office does allow businesses to make innocent advertising errors, but remember, if you see a deal that's too good to be true, you can jump on it, but don't be surprised if the seller discovers the mistake and pulls out of the deal.
But if the practice continues, call the Attorney General's Office.
