Allison Nguyen's anniversary present from her husband two years ago was a $1,400 LG Electronics washing machine, and yes, it's what she really wanted.

"At the time I really wanted it and I was very grateful for the present," she said.

This summer the machine broke down.

"I came to see that I had an error code and it means the drainage is broken. I didn't know that at the time," said Allison.

The machine was under warranty so the LG-designated repairman became a frequent visitor to Allison's home.

"I've had five service calls and I have the same error code," she said.

LG's slogan is "Life's Good." Well, is it?

"I work full time. I have two children. My husband's been away and I have to get a babysitter so I can run to the laundrymat at night," said Allison.

The $22 a shot at the laundrymat, plus babysitter expenses, began to wear on Allison's finances. Now the washer's warranty is up and she can't get anyone from LG to help her.

"I'm hoping they will resolve it so I can have a working washing machine soon, but as of right now I don't," she said.

After we called LG, they called Allison right away and sent her a letter saying they will be replacing her defective washer for a new model.

She's happy, but still remembers how she was treated before we stepped in.

"I've been disconnected many times on the phone. I've been transferred many times on the phone, and if they are going to provide this kind of product they need to stand behind it," she said.

Not only did we get Allison a new washer, she's also getting reimbursed for the money she spent at the laundrymat.
