Woman's wedding photos four years late
10:55 PM PDT on Tuesday, May 20, 2008
TACOMA, Wash. - Matt and Danielle Gamotis say their 2004 wedding was awesome.
"So many of my family members came together to make our wedding day the best," said Danielle.
A few weeks after the wedding, the Tacoma resident wanted to show off her wedding album.
Danielle paid for it, but four years after the wedding, she hasn't been able to get her hands on it.
"I understand things happen, but to not call at all leads me to think 'What if they've lost my album, or damaged it even more?'" she said.
Since the wedding, Danielle has given birth to two children, 2-year-old Avery and five-month-old Samantha.
Frustrated and tired of the run around, she called us.
"I haven't got a lot of hope that I'm going to get my album back … until you guys called," she said.
Here's what happened.
Danielle paid photographer Otto Motal in 2004 to shoot the wedding. That business has changed hands twice since.
The owner now is the Sound Factory in Auburn.
In an e-mail, the owner, Robert O'Shaughnessey, gives a number of reasons for the delay. He admits the album was damaged by a family member and it took months to find a replacement.
Two weeks after we called, a Fed Ex box arrived at Danielle's apartment.
"As soon as I got home I went straight for where it was," she said.
The afternoon became the wedding day all over again with the memories and moments jumping off the page.

The album is finally where it should be.
The album is now where it should be, at home with the bride.
"I thoroughly enjoyed looking through my album again, and looking back at that wonderful day everyone worked so hard to make possible," said Danielle.
Wedding season is coming up, so if you are planning to hire a photographer, be sure you ask for references, and be sure the person you hire will be around to deliver your photos.
