KIRKLAND, Wash. - A vintage baby grand piano was a gift of love to Kirkland's Gayle Birrell.

"My husband gave it to me for a Christmas present the first Christmas we were married," she said.

Gayle played the 1932 walnut Schubert for years, but her "baby" was not aging well.

"I wanted to see it restored and being used more often," she said.

Gayle gave her piano to Marci and Mark Bagley, owners of Kent's Second Hand Pianos. The Bagleys would restore the piano and take a cut after they sold it.

"A long time went by before I heard from them again," she said.

Gayle didn't feel too bad about that because the Bagleys put pictures of the piano on their Web site.

Seventeen months later, the site brought good news. The piano had been selected by a customer.

But Gayle didn't know the whole deal was already dead and the piano shop had gone bust.

"Marci has vanished and my piano has vanished and I'd just like some resolution," she said.

We went looking for Marci and Mark Bagley and found them working at a local piano shop.

Jesse Jones: We want to know where Gayle's piano is.

Mark Bagley: We're in the middle of a bankruptcy, you cannot harass us.

Gayle Birrell's piano is a 1932 walnut Schubert.

Jesse Jones: We're just trying to find out where the piano is. She wants to know. That's it.

The Bagleys did file for bankruptcy nearly three weeks ago.

Jesse Jones: She just wants to know where her piano is.

Mark Bagley: She has been notified.

Jesse Jones: Is she ever going to see her piano ever again?

Mark Bagley: Leave.

We've learned that Gayle is not alone. Court records show others who are also missing their pianos or thousands of dollars in payments, and all of the victims are singing the same tune.

"I'd say please do the right thing. Either pay me my consignment fee or give me my piano back," said Gayle.

If you purchased a piano from the Bagleys, we want to know.
