SEATTLE - How about a bite of a graham cracker cupcake with toasted marshmallow meringue?  Trophy Cupcakes in Seattle's Wallingford neighborhood creates these little bites of heaven and is being featured Thursday on Martha Stewart's show.

Whether you crave chocolate, vanilla or banana, it's not hard to figure out why Trophy Cupcakes is a good thing.

"You're not going to find this in a box anywhere," said Rick Flickenger, head baker at Trophy Cupcakes.  "This is all handmade, natural ingredients.  A lot of love goes into these cupcakes."

The good thing diva herself Martha Steward found the cupcakes so intriguing, she requested samples to be considered for a segment on her show.

"Actually, when I found out I dropped my phone.  I was very excited," said Flickenger.

Instead of mailing them cross-country, though, Flickenger and his wife, Trophy Cupcakes owner Jennifer Shea, flew to New York to hand deliver the goods for ultimate freshness.

"You know, that's what our customers get and that's what Martha needs to be tasting," said Flickenger.

What landed Shea a feature spot during Martha's "cupcake week" was the icing on the cake, so to speak.  They call it toasted marshmallow frosting.

"This is just a Swiss meringue, egg whites and sugar and cream of tartar," said Flickenger.  "It gets whisked into a beautiful marshmallow-like meringue."

While the cupcakes look too pretty to eat, we also discovered there's just no way to look pretty eating them.

With the cupcake crazing going as strong as ever, Trophy's treats aren't just for kids anymore.  And with Martha Stewart's stamp of approval, Trophy cupcakes now has its own medal of honor.

You can watch Jennifer Shea on Martha Stewart's show at 2 p.m. Thursday.  At 5 p.m., Trophy Cupcakes will host a "Martha Happy Hour" with free mini cupcakes during a viewing of Thursday's episode.
