Hey, quit raggin' on this sick lady, she has a very legitimate complaint and you too, everyone, is at risk from exposure to toxic chemicals that can damage your mitochondrial genome, nervous system, etc., depending on which of the 3700 toxic chemicals you're exposed to. For more information see ciin.org. She needs an Environmental Medicine MD to help her sort this out, and while we're at it I ask the Lord to completely heal her, in Jesus' Name, and am laying my hands on this email for her healing and the healing of everyone (that's 15% of all of us) with toxic chemical injuries and environmental illness. This has become a problem that people seem to just want to sweep under the carpet and not take serious. When pilots and flight attendants themselves have ended up in the hospital from the fumes one would think the airlines would be checking to this let alone the unsuspecting people who fly. We as a population always want to turn our heads to something when it does not affect our own lives but if it ends up in your own backyard it only then seems important. I feel this woman has cause and hope she gets the attention that will bring this issue to the people and hopefully no one else who has had this unsuspectingly happen to them will be passed over. I have flown many times and have had encountered those kind of fumes that choke you and I myself have asthma. I have even had to use my rescue inhaler due to those fumes while I was waiting on the tar mac to take off. Luckily I have never had any long lasting problems, but if my asthma had not responded to the inhaler I might not be here .

As for inforlife, you do not know my mother, she has never worked in any restarant, and my sister is not a gold digger, you are my point when I say, people that don't know the facts should keep their mouths closed before they make any accusations about some dillusion they have! From the posts I see here I see that inforlife has company in the lets jump to conclusions catagory! I would have hoped to see some kind of concern for my mother and all the other people that have this SAME issue. She is not the only one that is taking civil action! But some of you have to jump on some old lady that has had her life changed forever, not by her doing! Her efforts just might keep you or your family safe from toxic air the next time you fly!

I know the lady! She works at my favorite Restarant. She is the one that offers to shake salt and pepper on my food. Always puts too much on though, Doesn't know when to stop shaking.

There is a move by the airline industry to move away from "Bleed Air" systems on jet aircraft as the system can leak toxins into the cabin if it developes a leak. This is being drivin by the cases like my mother's and hundreds of others. The old style of air compression was a seperate air compressor in an area on the fuselage. After going to bleed air, these illnesses started appearing. Check the plane you get on next time you fly, and see if it has "Bleed Air".

People are funny. Smokers have about a 15% chance of getting lung cancer. This means that out of 100 smokers, about 15 will get cancer. 85 will not and die of other causes. So, if you are around other toxic chemicals and fumes, some will get sick, some will not. It's easy to understand why not everyone gets sick, you just have to use a little bit of logic.

I understand people being upset about frivolous lawsuits, there are more people that sue for anything, just to get money. These people make it harder for people with legitimate cases to receive justice! As far as seeing most of the money go to the agency that oversees the airlines, they obviously have not been doing their job, this problem has been happening for years, but is kept quiet as to not panic the flying public. As far as being an heir, true, but if you knew anything about my family, you would know that it is not about money. But you can beleive what you will, If you even had some sort of an Idea what she has been through, you would see it different I am sure. Just think of this, If this happened to your mother, and people started making accusations like these and you know the facts, and they don't. Would you not try to enlighten them to the truth? It seems to me that it would be very difficult to pinpoint the cause of an isolated case like this. It could have been the plane perhaps, but the older a person gets the more various health problems normally occur. Perhaps stress from her big trip was a contributing factor. She says symptoms didn't start until the day after the trip, I am thinking that the sudden shock of being back in close proximity to the large liberal Seattle population after visiting the more conservative Phoenix area may have contributed to the tremors.

This is an example of unrelated events happening at approximately the same time and a suffering person leaping to the completely unfounded connection between the two events. Nothing in this story shows any cause and effect relationship between air travel and some unknown disease. It is disturbing and dishonest for NWCN to publish this kind of nonsense.

Hey socialchange keep your head. You can't expect people to doubt the sincerity here as it does sound odd to say the least! Especially with you as an heir!!! When you yell that people are sick in all CAPS you look like a fool. If your mother was injured people really are sorry about that but you are making it worse. Rarities do happen and maybe something did happen and hopefully the truth will come out and some good can come out of this. What honest people hate seeing is our society becoming a dishonest bunch of liars with no social conscience that sues anyone for anything they can think of. I am all for safety being enforced through the courts when damage is actually done but I would like to see the bulk of any settlement go towards the agency that oversees airplane safety and with reasonable yet small amounts given to people actually injured and also for the attorneys that take these cases.

Should this happen to your Mother, you would do every thing possible to get to the truth, and try to get help for her. This case is just ONE of many that are going before the courts, the issue is, people being subjected to contaminated cabin air. People with low pone counts, can not fight off certain chemicals, such as TCP (Tricresyl Phosphate) , this chemical is used as a lubricant in jet aircraft. With these airplanes getting the cabin air from the engines, all it takes is a small leak to poison the air on the plane! This chemical was developed by the Germans and they called it Sarin, a nerve agent. If you or a loved one gets on a plane and see a mist and smell bad smells, you may have been exposed. Lets hope your pone count is high enough this does'nt happen to you-them. I know this woman, and her life has been dramatically changed, She has broken teeth from uncontrollable shaking, numerous doctors have done all the tests done for a person her age to see if it was age related, not one found a connection to age. She is NOT chasing the dollar, she would like for this to not happen to anyone else!

How come she is the only one on the flight with this problem? Don't you think there would be more people suffering from these "tremors", maybe someone who is not old and in need of money, if it was caused by the air in the plane? Makes no sense at all.

I did 30 years in the Navy aboard aicraft carriers, breathing exhaust fumes on the flight deck, and am ok today!

So do I get to sue the parent of the child that came to my wife's school with swine flu and got us both sick causing us both to miss a week of work? The child knew she had swine flu but had to come to school because her mom couldn't take time off work and didn't want to pay for childcare. Would be like getting blood from a turnip wouldn't it?

Here is another case of stupidity. Someone who is out for a free ride. And the sad part is the lawyers that get ahold of this case will go for lots of money. With people like this no wonder America is so messed up.
