SEATTLE - Three men were seriously injured in a crash on Rainier Ave. South early Saturday.
At about 2:50 a.m., officers arriving on the scene found three people lying in the middle of the roadway and a heavily damaged black Honda Civic up on the curb, police say.
A preliminary investigation found that the Civic was traveling southbound on Rainier Avenue South with two females (driver and passenger) on board. An SUV was traveling northbound with at least four people on board (a driver and at least three passengers).
In the 9600 block of Rainier Avenue South the SUV crossed the centerline and struck the Honda, police say. Three males were ejected from the SUV.
The two women in the Civic were not hurt.
The driver of the SUV didn’t stop and fled northbound on Rainier Avenue South before turning into Seward Park.
The three men found in the roadway were taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Officers found the suspect vehicle at the Atlantic City boat ramp. The suspect was still at the wheel and showed signs of intoxication, police say.
The man was transported to Harborview Medical Center for a blood draw as part of the on-going investigation into suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and vehicular assault.
