SEQUIM, Wash. - The Clallam County Sheriff's Office needs help caring for a group of neglected horses.

Officers found 15 starving and malnourished horses near Sequim on Thursday.

The Sheriff’s Office says two of the horses were estimated to be 50 pounds underweight and the rest 100 to 200 pounds underweight.

All of the horses were seized and held by the Sheriff's Department.

An investigative report will be forwarded to the prosecutor for complete review and consideration of charges.  State Law requires providing the horse owner 15 days to request the return of the horses.  If no request is made or the court denies the return of the animals or orders forfeiture of the animals, the Sheriff's Department will place them with rescue organizations.

If you’d like to help, contact Chief Criminal Deputy Ron Cameron at 360-417-2570.

They have no money to take. They are homeless people who move into foreclosed homes, animals and all. Buffy Campbell is listed as Wa States "MOST WANTED" violator regarding L&I. Wa State should be standing in court next to the Clallam Prosecutor. These people are animal abusers, animal hoarders, tax evaders and all around thieves. IF ANYONE HAS HAD ROTTEN DEALINGS WITH THEM FILE A POLICE REPORT OR WITNESS STATEMENT WITH CLALLAM POLICE A.S.A.P. Also let the prosecutor know as a taxpayer you want these evil people charged and sentenced to the maximum amount allowed by Wa State law. Buffy Campbell and Heather Goulardt have terrorized the animals and community long enough.

If the person who commented about "Buffy" being the evil person who is not feeding these poor horses, neglecting them, starving them, I hope the authorities at least take the time to look her up along with talking to others who know just what this "Buffy" is all about..

Buffy is hiding out on Martin Rd. in Port Townsend with more horses. I have heard the horses do not look good. I hope she is not allowed to own horses or any animals after this.

The grey horse is an Arab Gelding. I road him in a show at the riding place in Port Orchard before Heather road him into the ground and ruined him. He was a beautiful horse at one time and could be again. They have ran so many horses into the ground. I can not wait until they are stopped.

The law on neglect and abuse was changed a couple years ago and if these folks are convicted of felony neglect or two counts of misdemeanor neglect they can be banned from having like animals for the rest of their lives. I hope the PA socks it to them.

The Clallam County Sheriff stepped up to the plate for animals in crisis. THANK YOU FOR CARING. Years of complaints to Jefferson County fell on deaf ears and selective eyes. This did not happen over night. The suffering beasts resided in Jefferson until recently. Shame on you. Pleae send donations to the Clallam County Sheriff marked for the feed and medical care and housing. A fund should be set up to pay for prosecution . Please send these women to jail where they belong.

Well, the grey appears pregnant or very wormy, and the bay(s?) are more than 100 lbs underweight unless they're ponies. I'll see if we have any more room at the inn. This is so frustrating. If it is Buffy, we've dealt with her before. Sigh. And the poster above is correct - if the owner calls to claim them, they ought to get slapped with a fine at least, if not slapped somewhere else... And certainly they should be "relieved" of the responsibilities of horse ownership. This is so very sad. It's better to shoot them than to let them starve in your yard. Even responsible horse owners are facing very, very tough choices these days. Folks, there's help out there - ASK FOR IT!! Don't let your pride allow your horses to end up like these... Get that help!!

These horses were seized from Buffy Campbell. She runs a bogus horse rescue and is known for scamming and stealing horses. Google her! Lets put the word out and run if she shows up and says she will "save" or "train" your horse! Spread the word...she is not gone yet.

It takes a long time for an adult horse to lose 100 pounds. There are not excuses for letting animals in your care get to this point without asking for help. I hope these horses can find a stall here and there to be fostered back to health. The owner does not need help except therapy!

Interesting that this was not in any of the news media of North Olympic Peninsula.

I hope if the owners of these horses comes forward, he/she will be arrested on the spot for animal cruelty and the horses not/never returned to them!
