SEATTLE – Seattle’s beloved “Peanut Man,” Rick Kaminski has died, his partner, Candi Mindt-Keener, announced Wednesday.

Kaminski died overnight at Evergreen Medical Center due to complications from a brain aneurysm. He was 67.

"He died very peacefully and he had no pain. His biggest pain now is not being with his fans and his community as he loved all his fans very very much," Mindt-Keener said.

Known as 'The Peanut Man' by Mariners fans, Kaminski had worked at Mariners games since 1977.

He was well-known for his pinpoint accuracy when tossing the peanuts.

"On behalf of everyone at the Seattle Mariners, our deepest sympathies go out to Rick Kaminski's partner Candy, his family, his many friends, and fans," Mariners President Chuck Armstrong said in a statement.

Armstrong said Kaminski's speed and accuracy with a bag of peanuts was matched by his quick wit and smile.

"He always seemed happy to see you, even if he was meeting you for the first time. Rick loved what he did and the fans loved him for it. He will be sorely missed at Safeco Field as well as Peoria, Arizona, where he got in his 'Spring Training' along with everyone else."

Mindt-Keener said anybody who wants to do something in Rick's name and memory can make donations to their local Boys and Girls Clubs or the Children's Diabetes Foundation..

I CAN'T HELP BUT THINK THAT IF WE STILL HAD THE "KINGDOME" (I LOVED IT !!), WE WOULD STILL HAVE DAVE CALLING THE "GRAND SALAMI'S" AND RICK STILL TOSSING ME MY PEANUTS !!! ...... WE LOOSE SO MANY GOOD THINGS IN OUR LIVES, THAT TOMORROW NEVER WILL BE A "GOOD OLD DAY" ........

Actually Freedomfrank, I am a veteran. Spent eight years in the navy back in the seventies. There is not a day goes by I don't think of all the men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as think about those who have given their lives for the good ole USA. I honor them each and every day. It saddens me that you would dishonor the memory of Rick, as well as every American service man and woman by posting such a negative comment. This is not the place to make those comments. This is a place to honor a man who was loved by the community for just being a nice man, who was very positive about life.

Did you forget your meds today freedomfrank? We have the right to comment on what we want because of great Americans like Staff Sgt. Goldsmith. So quit dishonoring by being a comment nazi.

Another sad day in Mariner history. I guess Bill the Beerman needed Rick in Heaven to help him toss peanuts, smile, and kid with GOD during their baseball games. He is there with the best players to ever lace on the cleats, Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Mickey Mantle, Thurman Munson, Joe DeMaggio, Don Drysdale, Sandy Kofax, Roger Maris, Stan Musal, and so many, many more.....And of course the best play by play man to ever call a baseball game, Dave Niehaus. RIP Rick, your smile. wit, and accuracy with a bag of peanuts will be sorely missed at the "Safe"

As a fan I remember Rick from way back...I stopped going to M's games once they moved to Safeco but remember him well from the Kingdome days. His energy was boundless and accuracy amazing. I remember many times getting showered with peanuts from a botched catch nearby. If you gave Rick the high sign for bag you needed to be on yours for some heat!

My heart goes out to Rick's family and friends. My son passed away last November after suffering an aneurysm in October. He was only 34.
