SEATTLE – The drive of an SUV was killed in a head-on crash on Admiral Way in West Seattle early Sunday.

The crash happened at about 2 a.m. on Southwest Admiral Way and 37th Avenue Southwest.

Seattle police say the driver of a Durango SUV lost control and hit a pick-up truck head-on.

The driver of the SUV died at the scene.

The two other people in the truck were rushed to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.

Police say speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash.

lundgren, You are an insensitive human being. You are just as bad as clear2copy if not worse. You all protest about how you're here to discuss the story, well look into it. you'll be surprise how wrong you both are. I can only imagine how unloved you were as a child to be able to sit here and get off on something like this. I hope one day you can grow up and learn that if though stuff like this happens everyday it still hurts the people and loved ones involved. RIP Daniel G. Ramirez. I love you cousin.

That's three people dead of alcohol-related crashes in the last three days. And yet, Olympia takes no notice of the fact that residents are loosing their lives daily to drunk drivers. No changes in the laws - if lucky, the drunk drivers may get 5 years, with time off for good behavior. To get behind the wheel and do it again. My sympathies to the families and friends of those who lost their lives. Unfortunately, your governor and legislature worry more about putting a tax on candy than trying to save lives.

Weird I didn't realize you were talking or discussing the story. I thought you were just slandering my dead cousin's name. At least other people actually have something to say that is related to the news part you just come on here and spout off about DUIs. It's funny that you are "discussing the news" on this report and the blog about the accident that happened on the freeway, whats even funnier is that you are saying the EXACT same stuff on the other one. You wanna discuss the news report, it says MAY have been a factor. People first on scene smelt beer on the other two involved. I hope you feel big arguing with a 15 year old about her cousin's death. You didn't know Daniel, so you can talk your personal opinion and put it where the sun don't shine buddy, cause I knew him and I loved him and now he's gone. But according to you his life meant nothing. Your such a big person to sit here and slander a dead mans name. Why don't you sit in your mom's basement and surf the web for a new

Dear Mango, the "scumbag" your referring to was my family member. The man that died in that SUV had a job, raising his kids. So he was driving home from the bar after working a 24 hour shift with his two kids. And it just so happened that there were two others driving up the hill. They crashed and according to first on scene my cousin, the dead man, didn't smell like alcohol it was the two that survived that smelt like beer. Honey check your facts and shut your mouth. I'm sorry for your brother. At least I came on here and didn't slander his name..

Clear2Copy, you are an idiot. The people first on scene said they smelt alcohol on people in the truck not on the suv driver. If DUIs are so illegal why do they let people drive to bars? They're going to have to drive home aren't they. Have you never lost someone to something like this? I find it funny how people can sit here and slander a dead man. A man whos family, including me, will never see him again. A bit of advice for those of you being ignorant, grow up, learn to respect the ones others have lost just as you would want people to respect your dead loved ones, and lastly get a clue. Our legal system is obviously flawed or this wouldn't have happened.

clear 2- here's a little "protip" for you. Yes, this says 'speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash' But where exactly in this story do you see it pointing out who was the one doing those acts? Before you judge, you should wait for all the facts to come in. That's not just to you, but to all the people who are ignorant enough to think that way. Did you not read the comment from the man on the scene? Saying it was the 2 in THE TRUCK that smelled like beer? But I can see how pointing your finder at somebody who died & then attacking a 15 year old who just lost her Uncle would be an easier thing for you to do.

All of you making these awful and stupid negative comments GET A LIFE! You all are the most ignorant people on the earth, and I would be embarrassed to even know you, so glad I don't! Why don't you do something constructive with the internet like email your family and friends to not drive out on the road at 2:00am because this might happen to them? No, instead you want to make the most ignorant and heartless comments on here, and it's because you don't even really want to know what the truth is, the supposed victims were reeking of alcohol! Did you not read all the comments, there was a witness at the scene that smelled alcohol in the truck not the SUV! I bet all of you that are making the negative comments have been out in a bar and drove home drunk you just got lucky you made it home that night. Know your facts before making stupid comments, it just makes you look ignorant, now aren't you all embarrassed?

a little protip: when we say 'speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash' .. it's the same as when we call the guy caught inside a bank, with a gun out, in the act of robbing the place.. a 'suspect'

Aziza, I have to point this out yet again. There are no toxicology reports involving the blood-alcohol levels of the deceased SUV driver. I was on the scene and the surviving driver of the TRUCK was the one who reeked of alcohol and was speeding. It's possible both vehicles were speeding and there was alcohol involved on both sides but we will not know that until the full report has been released. Stop making ignorant assumptions about things you know nothing about as you do not know any more than the rest of us and in fact you certainly know less than some of us who were there helping before the emergency crews could show up!

I find it funny how nobody says anything about the two in the other truck. More then likely they were drinking, if in fact Daniel was under the influence. If they were drinking before the accident, shouldn't they be dead too. Do you all wish it on them, are they stupid idiots? Are they to blame also, or do they get a free pass because they are alive. Why does everyone assume Daniel was to blame? Should we no longer love him, and mourn the loss of a life. He didn't kill anyone, why does everyone act like he did? If the other two test positive is it then fair to say they killed Daniel? Will there be rude and hurtful comments by everybody?

My brother died because some "amazing" guy had a couple of drinks and decided to drive. The real amazing guy was the guy waiting at the bus stop wanting to get home after a 16 hour shift. I have very little tolerance for idiots who choose to drive after drinking and as for the bleeding hearts who think these scumbags need help , give your head a shake. Someone had a few drinks and drove, it doesn't mean they have a drinking problem what it means is that they're stupid. I wonder if some of you lost a friend or relative to a drunk driver would you still be all warm and fuzzy inside and try to help the moron?

clear2? I agree with you 100%. To this driver's friends and associates who are posting? DUI is illegal, there is no mistake about it. He's the one who made the choice to drink and drive and it is a blessing that he didn't murder anyone else.

Daniel was amazing as my daughter had stated. I find you clear 2 not have a clue amazing too. You amaze me by opening your mouth and not your heart for everyone involved in this accident. My daughter and everybody else is in no way suggesting drinking and driving isn't stupid. What's stupid is how you can be so sure that all the people involved hadn't drank a few. You amaze me by disrespecting my nephew whom you didn't know, now gone from our lives, yes perhaps due to bad judgement. It is a mistake that so many people make every day unfortunately. Please, stop the name calling and finger pointing at someone who has pasted away and is unable to defend themselves. Amaze us by telling people how you are going to try and maybe talk friends and family into taking cabs, change a law something. I know you can do it, you want to know why? Well it's because you are simply amazing, just like all of us!

clear2copy, that was so very uncalled for. The toxicology results aren't even back yet and SPD never commented on WHICH of the participants were considered to have had alcohol involved on their end. Your assumptions are rude, ignorant and offensive. If it turns out that the victim in this crash was completely sober but the survivors were inebriated, what are you going to say then? I would certainly hope you would apologize.

he wasn't very amazing when he got behind the wheel and bleached himself out of the gene-pool. He certainly wouldn't have been very amazing had he, like so many like him, kill innocent people while driving drunk. Love him all you want, but accept that he was responsible for the pain he caused his family, the victims of his stupidity and also for his own violent end. . You're not going to suggest that driving drunk isn't somehow stupid, now are you? there is NO excuse for driving drunk. This clown paid the price and luckily.. this time.. others weren't killed.

This is to anyone that has anything bad to say. The man who died was my 29 year old cousin, Daniel Ramirez. He was a wonderful man, an amazing cousin, and an outstanding father. He had two kids and a beautiful women by his side. Whether it was his fault or the other persons, whether alcohol was a factor or not, he was a human being. Prone to mistakes. This mistake ended his life and all you can think to do is make rude remarks? What you’ve never went to a bar and had a few drinks and then driven home? Well fyi he usually didn’t. He usually caught a cab. More responsible then most people. I’m a 15 year old dealing with the death of a family member and then I come on here and see some of the things people are writing about him.. You obviously didn’t know him so you can keep your personal opinion personal. Think before you speak or type. I loved my cousin. I always will

How dare you people sit here and take away more from this man. He lost his life, not the people in the car that he hit. He wont ever see his son again. Don't you think he has already paid the ultimate price for his so called "actions"? Yet you people, who don't know him at all sit here and say he desereved what he got, that he was worthless. You should be ashamed of yourselfs.

All of this speculation from people who were NOT there! I was one of the three people trying to keep the driver of the truck conscious and notifying 911 of the severity of the crash while waiting for SPD and emergency services to arrive! The concept of alcohol maybe playing a part in this is in reference to the survivors in the truck. The driver reeked of beer and only minutes before almost ran my girlfriend and I off the road after merging onto Admiral from the West Seattle Bridge. They were speeding and not driving safely occasionally swerving slightly within their lane. Now, I can not even say that THEY were drunk even with all of this first hand information because for all I know, they were drinking alcohol-free beer and just distracted or something so don't rush to judgement so fast people. Someone lost their life in this and so many of you are casting blame so quickly when none of you were there trying to help or know anything other than what this little "article" said.

Speed and alcohol " MAY" have been involved!!!! guess west seattle is full of psychics now, not like when I lived there before Californication. We waited until all the facts were available before passing judgement. Unless further info was on the tube, this only speculates on alcohol.

Every single drunk driver ever caught thinks they are not drunk or will just be careful on the way home. Just like every driver of a stolen car says they borrowed it from a friend, oddly they cannot remember the owners name. Thinking you are not drunk will not save you when you crash. You would not believe how many cars drive around at night. How can you not notice your lights are off? Oh yea, because you are drunk.

To negative commentersI, I hope this never happens to someone in your family or friends. The young man (29 yrs) in SUV, has a young son and will never get to see his son grow up, as well as the son will never have his daddy anymore. My son knew the young man. His friends in the bar would not of let him drive if they knew he was drunk, so if he was drunk, he hid it very well. Think about this all you out there, even if you think you're ok, probably not, so don't get behind the wheel (he just bought that SUV that very same day, was probably excited about driving it home) not a good situation, should not of stopped off at the bar. This is so very sad, my prayers go out to all involved and especially to their families. Hopefully the victims will recover and go on with their lives. I don't know where they were coming from, but at that time they probably were coming from a bar too - easy to think that.

The Bar did not make the driver of the SUV drive. And they say it is a possibility that the driver may had been a factor, but not for sure. So now you are making assumptions, typical commenter. As for King 5 they obviously hire any old joe to post articles because even myself with little education can use grammar/spell check.

First off we all (including me) assume that time of night and type of street that drinking was involved. I have the same thoughts about drunken divers as most of you. Not all drunken drivers want help. Many are offered and they do not accept. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of all involved. Many families try to help so they are not to blame. At this point we do not know if it was drinking, medical, phone or something else. We do need to keep from judging till we know for sure.
