SEATTLE - Nisei veterans on Saturday were honored for their service during World War II.

Members of Congress and military brass honored Nisei veterans, who've been selected to receive Congressional gold medals.

The Recipients Were Members of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, the 100th Battalion and the Military Intelligence Service.

The medal is the nation's highest civilian award.

"Brings tears to my eyes. So many have given so much. Well, all I can say is it's a great honor,” said recipient Bill Hiyashi.

KING 5's Lori Matsukawa helped emcee the ceremony at the University of Washington

The technical difficulties your 11 pm news crew had w/this story was bad enough, but your anchor's laughing about it was even worse and, given the nature of the story and its connection to the community, was unprofessional.
