SEATTLE -- After a search involving SWAT and K-9 officers, Seattle police arrested a man who they believe fired shots along Interstate 5 near the I-90 interchange Tuesday morning.
Police received reports of a man with a gun firing shots near 12th Avenue and Dearborn around 11:15 a.m. It's not known if anyone was injured.
The report prompted police to close the on- and off-ramps to Dearborn Street and the ramp to eastbound I-90 from northbound I-5 while officers, SWAT members and police dogs canvassed the area. The suspect was last seen traveling on foot under I-5 around South Massachusetts Street.
Around 12:40 p.m., SWAT officers stopped a suspect matching the description in the greenbelt area near 13th Avenue South and South Dearborn Street. That man was placed under arrest and transported to the East Precinct.
