PORT ORCHARD, Wash. - The deputy who shot and killed a gunman in the parking lot of the Port Orchard Walmart is a 10-year veteran of the Kitsap County sheriff's department, 38-year-old Krista Rae McDonald.
The sheriff's office on Tuesday identified her and the two deputies wounded in the Sunday shootout.
Andrew Paul Ejde, 48, was shot in the left shoulder and right arm and remains in Tacoma General Hospital. He has been with the Sheriff's Office for 6 1/2 years.
John Roy Stacy, 50, was wounded in the right shoulder and was released from the hospital on Monday. He has been with the Sheriff's Office for nine years.
Killed in the gunfight was 31-year-old Anthony A. Martinez of Salt Lake City. A young woman who was shot to death has not yet been identified.
Detectives now believe Martinez may have had an acquaintance in Port Orchard.
