PHOENIX -- The NHL says there has been no sale of the Phoenix Coyotes.

Dave Zorn of Metro Networks Arizona had reported that former San Jose Sharks CEO Greg Jamison was approved by the NHL to purchase the Coyotes.  Former Coyotes star, Jeremy Roenick, is reportedly part of Jamison's group.

The Coyotes are no longer financially supported in Glendale, where they are losing money.  Seattle sports fans see the team as a potential tenant of the city's newly proposed NBA/NHL arena.

Members of the Phoenix Coyotes Coalition had told KING 5 News they would celebrate when they heard it from the NHL, the current owners of the team.

So is Seattle stealing them like Oklahoma stolle the Stinker Sonics? You reap what you sow!

I was excited about the possibility of getting the Sonics back, and adding a hockey team, until I thought about what it will do to traffic. As long as they make sure the buses can still go through town and get us home, great. But right now, early Mariners games make the evening commute a nightmare. If this is going to happen, please add more buses, don't stop the express buses so dang early, and make sure they're all north of the stadium distict well in advance!

The average NHL ticket price this season is about $57, the average stadium holds 18,000 fans and there are 41 home games in a regular season. That's not a bad value. I'm just wondering if we can support the fan base. With the Silvertips and the Tbirds together pulling in about 10,000 fans on game night, I believe they can, especially when we will get to enjoy throttling the Canucks.
