EDMOND, Wash. - Thousands of people flooded Snohomish County clinics and hospitals for the H1N1 vaccine on Saturday.

Before the doors were even opened there was line wrapped around the corner.

There was almost a two-hour wait, with people traveling from Seattle and Bellevue to get the vaccine.

The county decided this weekend to only give doses to the most vulnerable population - pregnant women and children.

"I was hoping for the best but expecting the worst," said Rebecca Garton, who is seven months pregnant.

Pregnant moms and kids spent hours waiting in line for a chance to get the vaccine.

"I have a six year old at home so I figured get myself protected," said Rachel Jamison, who is six months pregnant.

Two days ago the county decided to push up its original Oct. 31 vaccination clinics to this weekend after the CDC released its findings that pregnant women and children were the most vulnerable.

"I think that we're doing more good for the community that way by doing those targeted populations," said Bobbi Ragland of Stevens Hospital.

Camile Fugget said waiting in line was certainly worth it. She lives in a house filled with boys.

"I'm having a baby in a week and a half so we decided we don't want them getting sick," she said.

By 1 p.m., close to 800 at this location were vaccinated.

Additional clinics are planned for Oct. 31, Nov. 2, 7, 14, and early December, but these are subject to change due to vaccine supply.
