BREMERTON, Wash. - Health officials say a Bremerton girl who died Monday had swine flu, but it's unclear if the virus directly caused her death.

The 4-year-old died Monday, but test didn't confirm the presence of H1N1 until Friday.

According to the Kitsap County Health District, the girl did not exhibit usual H1N1 symptoms like fever, cough and sore throat.

The Health District says its advice about swine flu remains the same: cover your cough, don't go to school if you're sick, wash your hands and get vaccinated if you are in a high risk group.

netty: I am sorry for your loss. I always feel the same, especially since losing our daughter due to being born 5 months premature. It seems these reporters have become callous when it comes to reporting these stories. A child is a child to the parents no matter if they are lost before birth or if they are 60 years old. How about some more info on the family? If they cannot afford a funeral maybe someone could set up a fund for them for people to donate.

I agree, just hearing that yet another child has died of this horrible flu is scary. Please, either give a little more information or none at all. And it's real easy to to tell people to wash their hands, and cover their coughs. This is common sense. Have you tried to get your child the vaccine lately? I was one of the lucky few but I can tell you it is next to impossible!

this swine flu thing is becoming so scary. I wish King 5 would either 1) wait to report these stories until they have ALL the facts or, 2) don't report these things at all. Needless to say, my prayers are with this family.

Having loss my own stillborn child...It saddens me to hear of a young loss such as this. I know our loss is different but no parent should see the death of their child. My thoughts and prayers go out to this family. God be with you! ((((HUGS))))

Thinking of this family with sympathy and compassion. This article was pretty callous. I know getting the information out that horrible things like this don't change the actions people should be taking. But the mention of this families loss was done almost like a side note to this. I hope the famly has a lot of wonderful loving people to help them cope with their loss.
