They found several top picks, from budget-priced to expensive.

Testers liked Skin Effects Calming Gel Cleanser for smoother skin and they rated Lancome's anti-aging moisturizer on top. And for hiding pimples:

"The Sephora FACE Concealing Blemish Pen won because it contains salicylic acid to dry up the acne," said Leah Wyar, of SELF Magazine, "but it's also going to offer some concealing."

The winning All-Around Foundation by Shiseido left readers with beautiful, balanced skin. Cosmedicine's tinted moisturizer was voted "simply stunning."

"Because it had a lighter weight formula," said tester Elizabeth Brownfield. "It didn't feel tacky or heavy like some of the others did."

To give your skin a hint of tint, Lancaster's self-tanner glowed. To add some color to your lips, the winning lipsticks: Almay's Hydracolor and Armani-Silk.

"It actually contains actual silk fibers," Wyar said.

For soft skin all over, Dove Pro-age was the bar-soap winner.

And readers loved Ahava's Pure Spa Energizing Body Mud Mask.

"I definitely felt like my skin was … almost like I didn't need to use moisturizer," said Lauren Spencer, tester. "It was that soft."

For eye makeup, Victoria's Secret Very Sexy Mosaic Eyeshadow and Bobbi Brown's Cream Shadow swept the competition. For hair help, readers felt like they had just stepped out of a salon after using Aura Spa Balancing Verbena Ginger Shampoo and Conditioner.

"The Charles Worthington Dream Hair Conditioner was great because it contained these pearl pigments, so it left the hair with a really beautiful luster," Wyar said.

The products range from $4 to $74.
