If you're considering taking your parents to an assisted-living facility or nursing home, you're probably thinking about it in terms of their health. But as nurse and Aegis Lodge executive director Kathy Stewart points out, residents in these facilities often make social connections or even meet a significant other.
"When people come to assisted living, it's a huge social arena of people at the same stage. There are many social interactions and people connect in intimate ways," Stewart said.
