The possibilities of 3-D printing technology have been widely discussed and demonstrated in recent months. 3-D printing has created everything from Invasalign braces to a new foot for a duck.

Now the technology has become so sophisticated that it is being used to assist surgeons in operating rooms around the world.

NBC's Kevin Tibbles reports on how 3-D printing produced a device to help an infant take his first full breath.
