While quitting smoking is a popular New Year's resolution, most people think about kicking the habit on Mondays.
Researchers at San Diego State University monitored Google search terms in six different languages from 2008 to 2012. They found most people searched phrases like "help quit smoking" on Mondays.
In fact, the searches on Monday were 25 percent higher than the combined number of searches for all the other days of the week.
Researchers say they hope to use this information to create anti-smoking campaigns.
The study was published Monday in JAMA Internal Medicine.
