Stretching before you hit the gym may not help your workout, but make it worse.
 
An analysis of several studies found stretching before physical activity can reduce muscle strength.

People who performed basic stretching exercises before lifting weights reported feeling weaker and more unbalanced than those who didn't stretch.

Doctors suggest trying other warm up activities like jumping jacks or high leg kicks.
