Washington state’s free Tobacco Quitline, which was shut down due to budget cuts last year, is back in operation.

The News Tribune reports the program was re-started thanks to new funding from the state legislature and a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Adults in Washington can call 1-800-QUIT-NOW for English or 1-877-2NO-FUME for Spanish. Eligible callers may receive:

-- A support team of quit coaches that can help you tailor a quit plan.

-- Research-based information about about smoking and quitting.

-- A step-by-step quit smoking guide

-- A supply of free nicotine gum or patches.

The quitline is open 7 days a week. 24 hours a day except the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
