One of the most difficult flaws to fix are those tiny spider veins on the nose and checks. Now there's a new FDA approved treatment that promises to help get rid of them - for good.

"I have very minor spots on my legs, but mostly I have these tiny little red veins right here and I've had them lasered twice and they came right back," said Markels Roberts.

That's why Roberts was anxious to try Veinwave, a procedure some doctors claim make those little spider veins instantly disappear.

"I'll believe it when I see it," said Roberts.

Vascular surgeon Dr. Anthony Carabasi says you can actually see the veins vanish right before your eyes.

"For many of the very small veins, particularly in the nasal area, the results are instantaneous," said Carabasi. "The vein goes away literally like an eraser, just erasing the vein."

It works by delivering radio frequency heat right into the blood vessels.

"You place the needle over the target area, press the foot pedal and deliver a small dose of radio frequency energy to the vein and that damages the veins," said Carabasi.

Markels' face was a little red, which will go away in a few hours. The veins are gone for good.

"Wow. And you did all the areas that bother me and more," said Markels.

Linda Boss opted for Veinwave to get rid of those spider veins on her legs.

"Immediately right after he injects them, you can't see them," said Boss.

Dermatologist Dr. Victoria Cirillo-Hyland says she typically uses lasers or injects a solution into the vein, but says this new technology is promising for small spider veins.

"It's a different method," said Cirillo-Hyland. "It's heating the vessel a different way. So we have choices. I think it's nice to have choices."

And for patients like Markels Roberts, this was the right choice.

"It's a miracle," he said.

Veinwave costs between $300-$500 per treatment. The treatment is so new, the only place we could find it so far is in Bellingham.
