If you've tried diet and exercise to get rid of that double-chin and it's just not budging, but you'd rather not resort to liposuction, there's a new ten-minute treatment that freezes off the fat.
Roxy Manning is getting the fat in her neck and chin frozen. She says she chose this method because the fat just wouldn't budge.
"I was working out and I just wasn't seeing results in my neck," said Manning.
Roxy heard about the procedure from her friend, who's only 34.
"The skin on my neck was looser than the rest of my body. Gravity was taking its toll. It was drooping. I was not happy. I didn't want a drastic full lift, but I wanted more than creams could do. I didn't want scars," said Megan O'Brien.
Cosmetic specialist Dr. Simon Ourian says lipofreeze does not require needles, or knives, or liposuction. First, he soaks the neck collar in sterile saline to make it cooler and protect the skin. Then he uses a special machine to blow ice cold air on the collar.
"When we freeze the fat, it dissolves and the body simply gets rid of it." said Dr. Ourian.
"It's a little chilly. It's not painful," said Manning.
In O'Brien's case, the entire procedure took less than ten minutes. But Ourian says it's not for everyone.
"It's good if you are fit and want to get rid of a little fat. It's not good if you are obese and need a lot of fat removed," he said.
Ourian says since the fat cells have to dissolve and be released from the body, it can take up to a month to see results.
The procedure is only available right now in Beverly Hills, but there is an alternative. The Zerona laser also treats double chins, and that treatment is available locally. For more information, click here.
