After studying 100 Seattle-area women aged 50 to 75, Fred Hutchinson researchers found three weight-loss strategies that work best.

First, keep a daily food journal.

Second, avoid eating out a lot, especially for lunch.

Third, don't skip meals. Doing so can lead to overeating later.
