It's a good time to review fireworks safety, with the Fourth of July coming up next week.

The state fire marshal, the state patrol and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives recently presented a demonstration highlighting the potential dangers of fireworks in Renton.

The fire marshal talked about the "three B's" of fireworks safety:

  • Be prepared: have water nearby and put pets indoors
  • Be safe: only adults should light fireworks
  • Be responsible: clean up fireworks debris
