Lara Dalch is a Certified Health and Nutrition Coach with her own company Dalch Wellness. She says that along with knowing what to eat pre- and post-workout, knowing when to eat is also important. Dalch recommends eating your pre-workout snack 1.5 to 2 hours before a workout, and your post-workout snack 30 minutes after a workout. Morning exercisers can grab a snack 30 minutes before hitting the gym. When picking a snack, Dalch recommends choosing one with a combination of carbohydrates, protein and healthy fat.
