One piece suits for summer + our favorite rooftop bar

Stylist Darcy Camden talks one piece swim suits for the summer season!

Stylist Darcy Camden talks about the big trend is swimsuits right now: one pieces!

Darcy’s Tips:

  1. Try on in the store if you can. It’s tempting to skip the bad lights and the cramped fitting rooms and only shop for swimsuits online. But you have a better chance of finding something you really feel good about if you go to the store. I advise people to try three, and narrow down to your favorite of the bunch.
  2. Grab your dress size, and the next two sizes up. Swimwear runs very small, you may end up wearing two or three sizes larger than your typical size. If you typically wear a size 8, grab 8, 10 and 12.
  3. Build the whole outfit. Your cover-up, sandals and accessories will bring the whole outfit together…and shopping for those pieces can be a lot more fun!
  4. Be kind to yourself. Try to identify one positive thing about every suit you try, even if you don’t find a winner right away.

Get swimsuit ready in three steps:
STEP 1: Exfoliate. I use a homemade combo of Coconut Oil and Coffee Grounds. The caffeine in the coffee grounds increases circulation and wakes up the skin, it can minimize the appearance of cellulite. Plus it smells amazing!

STEP 2: Apply self tanner. My favorite right now is Clarins. You can use a lemon and baking soda to tone down any uneven patches.

STEP 3: WEAR SUNSCREEN!  Like Julep's No Excuses Invisible Sunscreen Gel.

You'll definitely need your sunscreen if you spend an afternoon at The Nest in Seattle's Thompson Hotel.  Condé Nast rated The Nest as one of the Top 10 Best Rooftop Bars in the U.S.  They just relaunched with new furniture, a Robata-style rooftop grill, and a new "Resy" reservations system for groups of up to 8 guests.

PLUS, they now have an "Early Bird Gets the Nest" brunch available on Saturday and Sunday.  If you book brunch at The Thompson Hotel's Scout PNW restaurant, you get exclusive, guaranteed early access to The Nest rooftop bar and lounge when it opens at 3pm.  Now you know where to find us all summer!
