SEATTLE, WA - It was 21 years ago when actor Larry Thomas first uttered the now-famous phrase "No soup for you!" on an episode of Seinfeld.  Today, Larry is a spokesperson for The Original Soupman, the line of soups created by the real-life man who inspired the TV character.

Larry returns to New Day to show us how to make their Crab & Corn Chowder.

The Original Soupman Crab & Corn Chowder

Over a medium flame, sauté 1/4 cup of diced onions and 1 tablespoon of diced garlic, in 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil.

Add 1 teaspoon of ginger puree and 1 tablespoon of butter. Stir until butter melts.

Add 5 cups of milk, 2 oz. tomato paste,  1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon hot sauce, 1/2 cup sherry, 1/2 cup of diced potatoes, 1/2 cup shredded carrots, 1/2 cup chopped celery, 1/2 cup diced red peppers, 1 tablespoon of freshly chopped cilantro and 1 quart of water.
Stir to combine all ingredients.

Next add 1/4 cup of spinach, 1 cup of sweet corn, 1 cup cream style corn and 16 oz. of crab  meat. Stir well again until all ingredients are combined.

Add Al's secret spice blend (chef's choice of spices since Al's is a secret!)

Stir again.

Lower flame and allow to simmer for 45 minutes.
Enjoy!!
