SEATTLE, WA - The holidays are a special time of year for many but a tough time for others.  With one in five children in Washington state struggling with hunger, KING 5 is proud to partner with Northwest Harvest, Safeway-Albertsons, and U.S. Bank for our 16th annual Home Team Harvest food drive. This year our goal is to raise 5 million meals and we need your help!  Shelley Rotondo, CEO of Northwest Harvest, Matt Cambell, Associate Director of Food Programs for Hope-link, and Sara Osborne from Safeway and Albertsons tell us how.

This year's Home Team Harvest takes place on Saturday, December 3.  We'll be collecting food and money donations at six locations (with live KING 5 coverage): Everett Mall, Northgate Mall, Redmond Town Center, Tukwila (U.S. Bank), Bothell (Safeway), Tacoma Mall, and at KING 5 studios.  You can also purchase a $10 bag of food at Safeway or Albertsons stores that contain nutritious non-perishable food that will go to benefit local food banks.  People can also buy Hunger Bucks that can be used by food banks to purchase food for their shelves.  For more information, please visit www.king5.com/hometeamharvest.
