Dignity for Divas aims to collect 10,000 pairs of socks for area homeless

Upcoming sock drive, sponsored by Dignity for Divas, aims to collect 10,000 pairs of socks to deliver to shelters across Western Washington.

According to information the organization One Night Count collected in June, approximately 10,688 men, women, and children living in King County are homeless. Of that number, more than 4,500 are on the street, with the rest in shelters or transitional housing.

For a while, Nikki Game counted herself among that number. Now, she's reaching out to help others, through her organization, Dignity for Divas. She shared the work Dignity for Divas does, to help homeless women by delivering personal care items to homeless women and shelters across Western Washington. Nikki also previewed the organization's upcoming 10 for 10 Sock Drive, during which they hope to collect 10,000 pairs of socks to deliver to 10 area shelters.

The 10 for 10 Sock Drive takes place November 18 and 19, at Monica's Village Place in Seattle (140 23rd Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144). Volunteers will be on hand from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm each day to collect donations of new, clean socks. 1,000 pairs of socks will be delivered to ten shelters.
