What's with the floor at Suyama Space?

The Seattle Floor can be seen at Suyama Space at 2324 Second Avenue through December 11, 2015. Admission is free.

Seattle- At Suyama Space at 2324 Second Avenue, you'll find a colorful art installation on which you're supposed to walk. It's called The Seattle Floor and it is the work of German artist Veit Stratmann.  So what's the artist trying to say here?

We asked curator Beth Sellars.

" When people come in, they are presented with a choice of what direction to go, whether they should cross over and go straight down the color or cross over the ribs. So, the idea of coming in and having to respond to the floor yourself as well as watching other people and what they do, it becomes , in Stratmann's mind, kind of a game to see what that interaction is and how they resolve it."

Sellars also says kids love the floor.

The Seattle Floor can be seen through December 11, 2015. Admission is free.
