Live music in Seattle, week of 11/14 - KEXP's Music That Matters

Freakout Record's 5th Annual Freakout Festival hits venues in Ballard this Friday and Saturday and features performances for 34 different bands.

SEATTLE - Each week, The Morning Show's DJ John Richards from KEXP 90.3 FM makes recommendations to help us sort through the many incredible options for live music in Seattle's music scene.

This is KEXP's list of the Music that Matters for the week of 11/14.


  • WED 11/15 Hamilton Leithauser - The Neptune - The newest album for this former Walkmen frontman is in collaboration with Rostam and is titled "I Had A Dream That You Were Mine."
  • FRI 11/17 & SAT 11/18 Noah Gundersen - The Neptune - This American indie singer-songwriter's newest album is called "White Noise." His performance at The Neptune will be an album release show. 
  • SAT 11/18 Chicano Batman - The Showbox - This Latin psychedelic soul band's newest album is called "Freedom is Free."
  • SUN 11/19 Sorority Noise - Neumos - This rock band hails from Connecticut and came out with their newest EP "Alone" this year. 


  • WED 9/18 Black Nite Crash - 9:30 a.m. - These Seattle shoegazers formed in 2002 and took their name from a song by shoegaze great Ride.
  • MON 11/20 - Sorority Noise - 9:30 a.m.
