SEATTLE - This week of music kicks off with jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington, Friday, December 2, at the Moore. Also catch Kamasi Washington live on KEXP, Friday at 1 p.m. He arranged much of Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly, and is putting out great music in his own right.

Also on Friday, December 2, catch awesome Seattle band Lemolo with a special orchestral accompaniment, live at St. Mark's Cathedral. This Abbey Arts show makes use of St. Marks' incredible acoustics for an awesome, dreamy night of music. Lemolo is rearranging their set to be accompanied by a string ensemble and other orchestral elements for this unique one-time performance.

This weekend offers two shots to experience this incredible space, as Damian Jurado plays St. Mark's Cathedral on Saturday, December 3. Jurado is a longtime Seattle singer-songwriter who took an awesome psychedelic rock turn on his latest album Visions of Us on the Land.

Mark your calendars for NEXT Tuesday, December 6, as My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James brings his solo material to Showbox SoDo. Jim James is touring his brand new album, called Eternally Even, out earlier this month.

Also playing NEXT Tuesday, check out soul sensation Lee Fields & the Expressions at Neumos. You can also catch Lee Fields live at KEXP for free that day, Tuesday, December 6, at 3 p.m.

Forget about "shopping days until Christmas," just give the gift of live music, and go out and enjoy some yourself!
