After taking a few months off for doctor ordered rest, El Chente is ready to kick off the final phase of his famous farewell tour, otherwise known as La Gran Despedida. Fernandez underwent surgery last November to remove a malignant tumor from his liver, a surgery that lasted 10 hours. El Chente jokingly told his fans, thank you for all the prayers… I believe they worked because you still have me here to give you war. Fernandez will be honored with the Diamond Award by the International Press, Radio and Television society, the same day of his final concert in Las Vegas’s Mandalay Bay.
