On Tuesday, October 25th, KING 5 reporter Jake Whittenberg acted as emcee for the annual Smithwright Services breakfast for adults with severe developmental disabilities in small residential settings in Snohomish County. The event was not simply just a fund-raiser, but it aimed to raise community awareness regarding the benefits of non-institutional care for individuals with severe disabilities.
For over thirty years Smithwright Services served adults and now additionally operates a Children’s Program to respond to the urgent need for services to the growing population of children with autism.
