What should you do now?

Stories about the 2013 Washington State Jefferson Award winners will be featured on Evening Magazine on KING5 at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, March 18th and available for streaming online after the show.

Then, vote for your favorite Washington State Jefferson Awards winner to represent as our state at the National Jefferson Awards in Washington D.C. in June. Voting will be open for all Washington state residents March 18-25th on or by phone.

Last but not least, join us to celebrate! All five winners will be recognized at a breakfast in April in Seattle. The National Nominee will be announced at that time and also featured that day on New Day Northwest on KING5. Register will open in March.

About the Washington State Jefferson Awards

The Jefferson Awards began in 1972 when Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Senator Robert Taft Jr. founded the award as a "Nobel Prize" for public service. Each spring award programs are held across the country, including in Washington State. The Jefferson Award program recognizes people who make a difference, individuals who have made Washington -- and the world -- a better place. Past winners and nominees are every-day people doing extraordinary things to make their community a better place. Today, the primary purpose of the Jefferson Awards is to serve as a call to action for volunteerism in local communities.
