Volunteers continue to search for Mugsy the cat - missing after a motor home crash on Sunday.
Mugsy ran away when her owners, Ross and Etta Mayfield, were in an accident near Snoqualmie Summit. Sadly, Ross Mayfield died on Tuesday night. Etta will recover but remains at Harborview Medical Center.
More than a dozen people, guided by "Pet Detective" Kat Albrecht, is on-scene with volunteers.
The tortoiseshell cat was spotted on Tuesday but bolted when someone spooked her. Albrecht and her crew have set up feeding stations and cameras and even bring in "bait cats." The cats meow has been known to lure in wayward felines.
Albrecht says Mugsy is "trap savvy" and though she is friendly in her own territory, when she has been in the RV she was prone to hiding.
"That confirms for me that she is less likely to break cover and travel. Mugsy wants what most displaced cats want–a place to hide. I would estimate that we have a 95% probability that she is within the area we are focusing our search efforts," she said.
