A Seattle family was frantic after their van was stolen with their dog inside on Friday night.
Zoe Platt said the older burgundy Toyota van was parked near the Grizzled Wizard restaurant at Sunnyside Ave. N and N. 45th in Wallingford on Friday night.
At about 9 p.m. the van was stolen with the Dachshund/husky mix named Laska inside.
“The dog is very shy, very nervous, afraid of humans. They wouldn’t even know she was in the car, she hides so well,” Zoe says.
Zoe placed a notice on Craigslist and her friends spread the word on Facebook.
On Saturday, someone called with information and Zoey thinks she knows who it was.
"It's the thief that called me,” she says. “Called from a restricted number and asked if I was offering a reward for the dog. First they said they saw my van and told me where it was then asked if I was giving a reward.”
"The only reason I got (the van_ back is because they cared about the dog," she said.
