Movie fans showed their support for the Seattle Humane Society at a benefit screening of the film “Worst in Show” on Sunday at the Northwest Film Forum.
The film provides a behind-the-scenes look at the World’s Ugliest Dog Contest.
Every summer, dozens of homely mutts face off at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, Calif. In a competition to decide who takes home the title of World's Ugliest Dog.
Bay Area documentary filmmakers John Beck and Don R. Lewis go behind the scenes to meet the owners and their Chinese crested hairless purebreds, one-eyed rescue dogs and boxers with gnarly under bites.
The filmmakers say what starts out as an "ugly pageant" evolves into a heartwarming rescue dog story.
Proceeds from the Northwest Film Forum viewing benefit all of the rescue pets awaiting their own happy endings at the Seattle Humane Society.
