A happy ending for a dog that was lost Jan. 11 after the car she was riding in was in a serious accident.

"Mandy," and 11-year-old black, flat-coated retriever, was found Saturday near the scene of the accident at the intersection of Juanita Dr. NE and NE 141st St. on the Kenmore/Kirkland line near St. Edwards State Park.

The dog's elderly owner was relying on volunteers to find her.

Kirkland Patch reports that when Mandy was found by a volunteer, her owner was brought to the site and she came right to him. She had lost weight, but was otherwise in good health.

A Facebook community was launched to organize a search for Mandy.
