Firefighters in Gig Harbor on Saturday came to the rescue of a yellow lab that had fallen 200 feet down an embankment.

Gig Harbor fire says the dog reportedly jumped over a railing on 9th Ave. Ct. NW and then fell.

Pierce County Special Operations was called in to help. They reached the dog, packaged him up and lowered him to a Tacoma Fire Department boat.

The dog was then transported to the Tides Tavern dock.

There was no word on the dog's condition.
