If you’re looking for a new kitty to join the family, head over to Kitty Harbor in West Seattle this weekend. They will be holding their last adoption weekend before closing until June. They will be open both Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 pm.
Delyn Kosbab and her crew of volunteers have about 50 cats and kittens to find homes for (about 20 adults and 20 kittens).
Kitty Harbor says of their cats and kittens:
- 1/3 come from King, Pierce and Snohomish Shelters (off of death row)
- 1/3 come from Kitty Harbor’s own rescue work in the local area
- 1/3 come from Eastern Washington, where the "kill rate" is 70-90 percent, depending on the area/county.
Kitty Harbor is a unique shelter that places about 700 - 850 cats and kittens every year. Cats that are not adopted this weekend will go into foster homes or other rescue groups until June.
