How to help animals affected by Taylor Bridge fire

Hundreds of people and animals have been evacuated because of the Taylor Bridge wildfire, burning near Cle Elum in Central Washington.

Animals are being taken to the Kittitas County Fairgrounds. An account has been set up at Central Valley Bank in Ellensburg in the name of Animal Rescue. To donate call 509-925-5444.

A Facebook page has been set up for people to share information on lost and found animals.

The dog pictured above was found on Ellensburg Ranches Rd. with scorched pads and burned fur, but is otherwise OK. The Ellensburg Animal Hospital cared for the dog and was able to locate the owner.

Valley Veterinary Hospital & Cascade East Animal Clinic is also taking in displaced animals.

Small-animal food can be dropped of at the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce / Rodeo office and Knudson Lumber. Veterinary professionals will advise where needed for delivery.

Large-animal food can be taken to the fairgrounds Animal Intake area at 8th & Alder.
