There's a sweet story that has come out of the destruction caused by the Taylor Bridge fire in Central Washington.
Eastside firefighter Cody Ramstad gained the trust of a small deer.
He said it took a few days for the thin and hungry doe to trust firefighters.
"She is a nursing mommy and a lot of her feeding ground was destroyed," Cody said on the Eastside Firefighters Facebook page.
"She loved the apples and honey oat bars from our lunches and we gave her pretty much everything we had that wouldn't make her sick," he said. "She would eat and then go right over to her fawn to nurse."
Cody said the doe was the only one out of the group of deer that would come up to firefighters.
"Something told us she was in need of calories badly," he said. "It was a welcomed interaction for all of us given the initial chaos of the first few days of the fire."
