Molbak's in Woodinville is hosting "Dog's Day out" on Saturday. The event will benefit Homeward Pet.

You can visit with Homeward Pet staff and volunteers and meet dogs up for adoption, enter to win great dog-themed raffle prizes, and strike a pose with your pooch and get a digital file of your best shot.

You can also meet author Wendy Wahman, author of Don't Lick the Dog: Making Friends with Dogs.

Snacks for humans as well as canines will be available.

Also this weekend is the "Patriotic Pups" and "Patriotic Purrs" adoption events, hosted by Pawsitive Alliance. You can meet more than 100 dogs and puppies from across Washington in one location.

Cats and kittens will be from three local shelters.

The event is Sunday from noon until 3 pm at PetSmart at 1505 11th Ave NW in Issaquah.

At last month's Mutt Match & Cool Cats adoption event, 101 families found their new best friends.

Participating organizations bringing animals to adopt include:
• Barks R Us:
• Grant County Animal Outreach:
• Wenatchee Valley Humane Society:
