Six Western Washington pets won an online contest and now appear on the Washington Lottery's new “Cats vs. Dogs” Scratch game.
In July, hundreds of people submitted more than 1,300 photos of their furry friends as part of the “Cats vs. Dogs” Scratch ticket contest.
A public voting period was held, and three dogs and three cats won by popular vote. Their headshots are featured on the new tickets.
Trouser the bulldog was one of winning dogs.
Trouser said of the photo, “My owners try to dress me up occasionally, but I’ll mope around when they do. A couple years ago, they found a little collar with ribbons and jingle bells that I’m wearing in the photo. I (reluctantly) wore it the whole holiday season, because that’s what kind of dog I am. It was a Christmas gift to my human family that year.”
Bentley was one of the three winning cats.
“The photo was taken in June on my sweet 16th birthday," Bentley said of the photo. "When my owner posted it on Facebook before the contest, it got 300+ ‘likes’, so I was feeling lucky. After I won, I tricked my owner into pushing me around in my stroller, which always makes me feel like a prince.”
